Hands On Teaching

Prioritize Relationships

Collaborate! Collaborate! Collaborate!

My Philosophy as a Teacher:

I believe that every child is unique and has something special to contribute to their education. My goal is to help students express themselves, accept themselves as they are, and accept the differences of others. I believe that every classroom has its own distinct community; as the teacher, my role is to assist each child in developing their own potential and engaging them with their unique learning style.

As the classroom is a unique community, I believe that each student should play a role in order to create ownership and encourage responsibility. As a teacher, I feel that it is my responsibility to teach and encourage good character. I do this by creating a reward system that focuses on achieved behavior rather than consequences. I also do my best to present the curriculum in a way that engages students, incorporates learning styles, and encourages critical thinking. Hands-on learning, cooperative learning, projects, themes, and individual work will all be used to engage and activate students' learning in my classroom.

My philosophy as a Leader/Coach

In my role as a leader/coach for educators, my philosophy centers on the belief that each teacher is unique, possessing valuable contributions to their profession. I am passionate about fostering a community where educators can express themselves, embrace their individuality, and appreciate the diversity among them. Drawing inspiration from my own teaching philosophy, I emphasize the importance of recognizing and cultivating the distinctive potential of every teacher. Through personalized coaching, patience, and a focus on technology integration, I aim to empower educators to create engaging, inclusive, and technologically enriched elementary classrooms. I firmly believe that by instilling a sense of ownership and responsibility in both teachers and students, we can collectively shape a positive and dynamic learning environment.

 Daily Procedures

I prefer to lead my classroom from a set of Google Slides. Children thrive on routine and predictability. I use routines with cued music to create a seamless flowing classroom. I also believe that music can shape your mood. I prefer to use music to create a peaceful, focused learning environment.

Family Communication

Family and parent involvement is important to a child's educational experience. Having more contact and communication with a child's family helps me learn more about their family background and home life. This, in turn, helps me to meet student's needs at school. I believe that it's important to collaborate with parents and work together to create the best possible educational experience that a child can have.

In the past, I have used the following to communicate to parents:

Class Dojo, Newsletters, Texting, Email, Phone Calls, and Online Portals
